Everybody Hates Chris
This Everybody Hates Chris viewing is sponsored by Bad Ninjas. The comic strip about how not to be a ninja.
I have not seen this show since I got it on a preview disc from Entertainment Weekly. It didn’t seem very different from other shows like Malcolm in the Middle. That is the way pilots are sometimes. They can get much better. I guess we will see.
First off, I just saw a commerical for a local hack law office. It starred William Shatner. I thought he was doing better. He doesn’t need work, does he?
Hooray! My first laugh, and it wasn’t forced. It looks like this episode picks up right after the pilot. Lucky me.
Looks like kid Chris Rock, who will now be referred to as Chris, is getting used to his new “cracker” school.
The mother character isn’t likeable. Will that change?
The flashbacks are pretty funny.
It seems like the glue that is holding the show together, like a few quirky scenes and flashbacks, are better than the main course. As a whole, it just isn’t seeming too fantastic.
Hey, they have a big decortive fork on their dining room wall. Like me!
They’re eating sausage and poptarts. That makes me smile.
There just isn’t enough to it. It tries to be quirky, but it also tries to be grounded in reality. Slightly succeeding in both doesn’t make it great as a whole.
I wouldn’t watch it again by choice. It isn’t a terrible show though. Not the worst half hour of my life.
Thanks, Bad Ninjas. This show wasn’t too bad.
