My Husband’s Three Wives
As awesome and hilarious as a show on TLC sounds, it will never be what you want. My Husband’s Three Wives will surely be one of those major disappointments.
These folk live in Texas. Now this Brian dude only has one legal wife, but two spiritual wives. So the title of this show is already misleading.
Brian is a psychologist. I can’t quite wrap my mind around that. He doesn’t believe in monogamy since it leads to more divorces. I have a feeling that more marriages were ended by trying to bring a second woman around. I reject your stupid theory, Brian.
Brian married his first wife legally. Then he started sleeping with and then moving in the other two ladies.
The thing about polygamy that rubs me the wrong way is the treatment of women. He just started sleeping with other woman? That doesn’t seem like a responsible and respectful things to do. Have as many wives and husbands as you want! But don’t be a jerk about it, okay?
Would you believe me if I told you that Brian had issues with his parents? He does! Shocker!
They are celebrating anniversaries? That doesn’t seem quite right. A lot of this doesn’t seem quite right.
Did I mention there are a million kids running around? There are.
Wife number one isn’t happy about the potential wife number three. Wife number one stated that one person needed to be the bigger person. Which lends itself so perfectly to the “No, it’s big of me” joke.
Okay, here’s how it works. Everyone should be in love with each other. The man loves the two women? Fine. Then the two women have to be in love with each other two. And, hey, maybe they’ll throw another dude in there. As long as everyone is in love with him, it’s all cool.
Brian just invited the first two wives to help pick out wife number three’s wedding band. There’s salt in the old wound for you.
The kids aren’t too happy about this new wife either. Add that to the reasons that Brian is a complete bastard.
Then Brian can’t handle the stress coming from the three women, so he leaves everyone at home and goes out to the bar. That goes on the reason list.
The third “wife” came in and saved their home financially. With neither of the wives working, you’re saying they were short on cash? How is that even possible? With the husband working one job, they should have plenty of money rolling in!
Then the wives voted number three out. Good for them. Everyone in the house is now happy. Except for Brian. Who is mopey.
TLC is a channel full of people I have no sympathy for.

THANK YOU! i just saw this show for the first time on tlc and can we please take this off the air for good?! it’s a disgrace to women that they just stick around because some dick head decided to “bring home” another woman. The first one was a moron for sticking around when he knocked up the second one in the first place! Problems with his parents…DUH, he needs to go to a psychologist himself! As a woman, this show is a complete insult to women everywhere. Also a total perfect example of the pig headed nature of men that women with no self confidence just “put up with.” Grow some balls, please.

I saw this last night. I stopped because I couldn’t believe the title. On the Learning Channel too. What did we learn? The guy said it was his duty to have all these wives when he really wanted none. Why is it his duty? I never heard that part. What I don’t get about polygamy is why do the men only get to have more than one partner? Not that I agree with more than one husband either. I just want to know why that is the case. The women and kids are treated horribly by this guy so why would you want to be with him at all. These women need to get a clue and some self respect.

I wonder how he would feel if one of the wives wanted to bring in another husband, I bet he wouldn’t like it. Also the second wife didn’t like the third, does she really think that he isn’t going to bring anymore home? I feel sorry for those kids, he doesn’t give any thought to them at all just does what he wants he is very selfish. I wanted to reach through the TV too. They did the Denise a favor by kicking her out. I could go on and on but I’ll stop.

The main response I have is:
WTF.
That was the most jacked up, disturbing reality show I’ve ever seen. What a bunch of idiots. Poor kids.

The worst part was when they asked the only daughter what she thought about it, and her sad little response was “i would never want to have more than one husband, and i wouldnt want my husband to have more than one wife”. She’s 10, she knows whats up, and she knows its wrong, and that her family life blows. I don’t even like kids, but that is screwed up.

how did they say this was legal?

I missed the very very ending when they type something across the screen about divorce… What happened? Did anyone catch that?
Comment by erika — February 2, 2009 #
ok so I missed the very end, did it say he ended up divorcing one of the girls? Man I just missed the last ten minutes but I saw it showed him standing alone in the end.

I cannot beleive this show. First off, I would like to know where this “Dr.” got his degree. Second, what area of psychology or counseling does he specialize in. Third, can’t he figure out he is unhappy and produces his own problems. And, to add insult to injury, he takes his frustrtion out on his kids. I don’t know, go figure.
Where was he working on his PhD and what was Denise there working on? Maybe a class on how unhappy people attract unhappy people?

I know for sure it said he divorced one of them but I’m not sure who or if it was both. I can’t believe they lived like this for 20 years that’s so messed up. Hopefully the first two divorced him and left him w/the other girl who can end up pimping him out since he needs her money. LOL.
Comment by vanessa — February 2, 2009 #
No, I did not catch the end either. Did both women divorce the good Dr.?
Comment by CeeCee — February 2, 2009 #
agh man my comment got erased. So what happened at the end who got divorced?
Comment by vanessa — February 2, 2009 #
that show just about killed me to watch, but at the end i was so happy! it had a still picture with the women in black and white and the man in colour hahaha they all left him, wife #1 divorced him and then remarried and then and it said wife #2 left him also. I wonder if the two women talked and left him together because that would so awesome.
Comment by michelle — February 2, 2009 #
Yes, Kathy left in 2006 and Pam (legally married to him) divorced him in 2008 and is now remarried. There was some more text after that which I missed but something more about Kathy? Did she return? I don’t know, but I am sure curious to find out…

That is so cool to hear that they both left him. I can’t believe what they put up with and they were attractive women and he was not attractive. And what about the ubsurd living conditions he had his own room and they alternated nights. I’d be skipping my turn all the time. He is probably bankrupt now. Oh and I loved when the second wife said she was still young and wanted to make love more than twice a month.
Comment by vanessa — February 2, 2009 #
ugh what made me so mad was when he said something like he would be being vane but, he was that good looking
Comment by michelle — February 2, 2009 #
The guy is a freaking Aggie. He had his A&M clothes on all the time. And y’all are surprised he’s a loser? BWAAAAAAAAAAA
Comment by TexasMom — February 2, 2009 #
I think the final bit of text said he was engaged again. It didn’t say to whom.
Comment by smokeyblue — February 2, 2009 #
What is wrong with people??? If my fiance came home with another woman,I be gone so fast, his head would be spinning!!! Its not like this was an agreement from the beggining. ( not that that makes it more ‘normal’) At least if that was the agreement the 1st wife would have had more of an idea of what she was getting herself into!!
Yes it did say something about both (legal and not legal) wives leaving him. The last bit of text did say he was engaged and ( if I read right) was now commited to monogomy!!

The last bit stated that he was going to try to remain monogamous!

How is it legal someone asked? The first wife was his legal wife and the second was called his second wife, but they weren’t married by law because it is illegal. Also, the third woman “Denise” if they went through with the whole thing would not legally have become his third wife.
Comment by KW — February 2, 2009 #
Ack! That’s the house! No wonder it’s a rehab/”wellness center”! Who else who need a house with that many bed rooms?! Hope Dr. what’s-his-face isn’t working there… and none of those ex-wifeys!
Comment by Steph — February 2, 2009 #
This film is proof that intelligent women can be fooled, duped, and manipulated into staying in stupid relationships and that being played is not limited to young girls. The man was not a polygamist. He was an adulterer, user and low-down creep. I hope Denise sued him, that the “second wife” got her due and the first wife received a nice settlement. Chances are the good doctor is now with a nice young woman. I just hope she will know what to do if and when he starts talking crazy talk about another “wife” and that she has a nice pre-nup. Denise, wherever you are count your blessings.
Comment by RosaRosa — February 3, 2009 #
It said in 2008 Wife #1 Divorced him and soon after got married to someone else.He was in the process of legally marrying Wife #2 and vows to stay menogemous.

I know this family personally. I live in Waller, TX, and my children go to school with his. I have had several of his children over to my house. First of all, to the comment RosaRosa above….I don’t know what you mean about pre-nup. When Kathy left him, Brian and Pam begged her to leave the lights in her name, because their credit was so bad they had to put down a deposit to have it transferred into their own names, and they didn’t have the money. This came straight out of Kathy’s mouth. Their children hate their father and have many issues because of him and their lifestyle. The younger children would hate being at their fathers, because he had all this land and was trying to build this ranch, but could not afford to hire anyone to take care of it, so he made the kids do it. It was so sad. I thought many times of calling CPS on them, but I knew CPS had already been out there several times before. Kathy and Pam both finally left him, and I have not seen or heard anything from the kids in quite a while. I know they are no longer going to Waller schools. Hopefully this man is finally getting what he deserves. But I guess as long as he is still a free man, we all know he hasn’t had to pay yet!!!

This guy is a waste of space….he is using these women against themselves. Totally disgusting. My last post didn’t take because it stated the way I felt about this excuse for a human!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Comment by Michelle — December 31, 2009 #
This is awkward. I know this family personally also. The kids seem better now, but they are all mentally screwed up, for life. How do I watch the shows?
Comment by Cheyenne — January 3, 2012 #
you should see the house today. Empty and completly run down. this guy is still around and goes by Doc Murray
Comment by kim cottrell — January 15, 2012 #
Ok listen people I went to high school with these kids they are good people and no one should judge them because they live their life differently than we do. Lets show a little respect people and act like adults the old saying “If you do not have something nice to say do not say it at all” is coming to mind here. Take a step back and look at a different view point and be amazed that this lesson is coming for a young person.
